Biddle and I worked on her "flower garden" today. She loves plants and leaves and dirt and trees and plucking the heads off of whatever is blooming. We are having our yards re-landscaped in the coming weeks, and my theory is that if I give the small gardener her own plants to tend to -- she'll be satisfied to look and not to touch the new plants. This, I'm sure, is wishful thinking on my part.
And because she was kind enough to take a nice nap this morning, I was able to tackle a messy kitchen project: Figuring Out How To Freeze Fruit. Happily, it turns out to be not difficult at all! I just followed these instructions, and voila! -- 3 quarts of Summerwhite peaches tucked away in the freezer.
Flowers? Check.
Fruit? Check.
That's two projects I can cross off of my insurmountable list of things I want to get done.
But there's Oh so much more to do and I feel overwhelmed. My daily tasks are competing with my bigger projects. If only I could hire someone -- just for a week or so -- to come in and cook and do dishes and laundry and shop for groceries and wipe poopy bottoms and all other sticky surfaces. Meanwhile, I could work diligently on Projects That Could Change Our Lives & Ultimately Give Us More Free Time To Do The Things We Truly Love To Do.
